Arts and Crafts - Liberty, MO, US
Founded on the campus of William Jewell College in 1965, many may not know that a little known tenor Luciano Pavarotti presented his professional recital debut with the Series in 1973, thus projecting him into the International spotlight and to worldwide fame. Now, 57 seasons later, the organization has established a solid reputation as an industry leader in performing arts presenters. The Harriman-Jewell Series has presented to date, over 970 classical performing artists and has debuted 25 American premiere performances at downtown Kansas City venues. In 2004, a free Discovery Concert Series was added with the goal of presenting emerging new artists to the community while also eliminating all financial barriers to attending. In 2021, The Series presented our 55th free Discovery Concert performance. It is our mission to continue to bring the best of the performing arts to Kansas City and provide arts education opportunities for youth, young adults and life long learners.
