The Harris Arts Center is home to the Roland Hayes Museum, Ratner Theater, art galleries, classroom and rental spaces.Native son Roland Hayes was the first African American to receive international acclaim on the concert stage. A visit to the Museum is always free as is admission to the galleries, where art shows of varying genre rotate each 6 to 8 weeks. Largely volunteer driven, Calhoun Community Chorus, Music Guild and Calhoun Little Theater produce many plays and concerts year round. Yoga and adult clay classes are on-going. Private lessons are offered in violin, guitar and voice. The facility may be rented for receptions and private and corporate functions.The mission of the Calhoun Gordon Arts Council is to bring the arts to the entire community and to honor the legacy of Roland Hayes.Our vision is to be an be an expert and leading advocate for arts experiences in the region. We will enrich understanding of the arts and of our cultural heritage, reaching and serving a diverse audience. We will honor the past, celebrate the present, and anticipate the future.
