Hello!Welcome to the Harris Institute of Technical Training (HITT). Our revolutionary electricity metering instruction and apprentice training programs are our passion. We provide quality training, materials and resources to those in the electricity metering and related field crafts. THE METERMAN'S BIBLE Brad began to work on training material that he wished was available when he was training apprentices at an electric utility in Utah. He spent 2 years designing the technical drawings for what would become known as "The Meterman's Bible". A trio of reference books printed in color, showing the connectivity of metering installations from line to load. A visual feast for every metering professional. Then came the Metering Proofs and Truths and the Specialty Metering Diagrams Reference Manual aka "The Legacy of Metering", and finally the Distribution Transformer Connections Training Manual and Field Reference Guide (DTC for short). A REVOLUTIONARY TRAINING PROGRAM IS BORN!Using the drawings from these metering reference books and his nearly 30 years of metering experience, Brad developed a full and comprehensive Electricity Metering Apprentice Instruction Training Program. Together, he and his wife Michele worked to develop the ‘missing' pieces of training by visiting meter schools and speaking to metering and line employees of utilities around the Country. Their travels have taken them from shore to shore and across the Pacific Ocean and their books have gone even further! Canada, Belize, The Virgin Islands, Trinidad & Tobago, Barbados and Australia. Our revolutionary program delivers a strong foundation of metering knowledge and provides insight into the role they have within the utility overall, focusing on developing the skills and critical thinking abilities of the apprentice.
