About The ArtistCanadian artist Jeannette's first love has always been that of animals and her natural surroundings. She studied Fine Arts in England and Graphic Design in Canada. After some years specializing in logo design both in Canada and the USA she returned to her first love, that of animals and her work has been in high demand ever since. Winner of the Toronto Library competition, she has had the cover of Canadian Arabian News Magazine and today her work can be found in several private collections as well as various book covers and CD's both in Europe, Canada and the USA. Although an accomplished painter, she says, "I love drawing and working in graphite and coloured pencils long before it was considered an acceptable medium, the clarity of colour reminds me somewhat of watercolours, but with a more tactile, organic feel."Statement:"With each of my paintings I strive to move people emotionally. My goal is to express the real character of the animal I am illustrating - to show it's true nature. I feel that one of the key roles of an animal artist is to help motivate and inspire people to safeguard and protect our endangered wildlife. We have a symbiotic connection with our immediate surroundings. We cannot continue to plunder our natural resources while showing no regard for our precious wildlife, without severe consequences to ourselves and everything living on this planet of ours."
