As a child, I remember doing my homework at the Breakfast table on top of aerial photographs topography maps, and architectural designs. My Father, Raymond Hayes, who worked for Continental Airlines, had started a side farm and ranch real estate business, Cross Country Land Company. Little did I know at the time, that my future would hold the privilege and opportunity to work with my Father selling real estate. Dad, being a pilot for Continental Airlines, allowed my Mother to plan trips taking my Brother, Greg and I on adventures all over the Country, Europe, and Mexico. There was never a trip that we did not engage in tours that showcased the Architecture of churches, castles, buildings, mansions, museums and of course the countryside. It was fascinating! That was the beginning of my love for design and property.Dad had acquired an office in Addison, Texas. When Greg and I finished our education; Dad put us to work. We had a real niche in selling Rural Property because there were very few firms that were active in that market. We were busy! Over the course of the years, we have sold over 100,000 acres in Texas and Oklahoma. Will Rogers had a saying, "Buy land because they are not making any more of it". Repeating that true statement of Wills', closed many of deals for me!Along with being the "Land Lady", there were my friends and family that were wanting me to help them purchase homes within the City. I began selling existing homes and new construction. Because of repeat business and referrals of new clients, I have diversified into the residential market and have launched my own company, Hayes-Homes, Inc. Dad has retired, my beautiful Mother is with me in spirit. Greg and I are now the owners of Cross Country Land Company. We manage and operate the family land and cattle business with Greg's son and my nephew, Kyle Hayes. I am blessed to have worked with my wonderful family and have the support to start my own residential company.
