Hayley Jane is a musician based out of Detroit, MI, who can't really describe her own music. It's cabaret, it's folk, it's pop, it's grunge… It's a lot of things, but mostly it's love songs and other silliness played on ukulele, and she'll happily play it wherever you let her. Heavy influences include Amanda Palmer, Frank Sinatra, The Cure, and Garfunkel & Oates. It is the closest thing she has to a diary, and the only way she can think through a good percentage of her problems. When not attempting to be the town troubadour, Hayley Jane is a burlesque performer inspired by everything from Gypsy Rose Lee to Liza Minelli, combining the multimedia macrocosm of today's entertainment industry with the stripping simplicity of yesteryear. She happily absorbs herself in each act she does, whether it's by writing the music to which she's dancing or constructing the costumes she plans to take off. She enjoys making people laugh, think, hoot, and holler with her silly, sexy routines, which range from traditional striptease to sassy characterizations. Although art and performance are her main passions, she also enjoys picnicking in parking lots and buying bulk packs of army men at the dollar store. However, if you see her climbing anything, remind her that her knees are messed up and this is not going to end well.
