HAY was founded in 2002 with the ambition to create contemporary furniture with an eye for modern living and sophisticated industrial manufacturing. HAY's continued vision is to create straightforward, functional and aesthetic design in cooperation with some of the world's most talented, curious and courageous designers. In September 2013 HAY Amsterdam opened its doors on the Spuistraat 281 in Amsterdam. As of July 23, 2016 HAY Amsterdam has been transformed into HAY HOUSE Amsterdam. This two-stories mini HAY shopping mall is, with HAY HOUSE Copenhagen, the largest HAY flagship store in the world. The spacious store joins forces with De Koffie Salon which was awarded with ‘Best Coffee in the Netherlands'. The guests can shop at HAY and at the same time enjoy their latte macchiato and a traditionally baked ‘stroopwafel' from Lanskroon. This famous pastry baker is located in the souterrain of the store.
