HEAL (Health, Empowerment, Advocacy, Learning) Details

Established in June 2017, HEAL is a student-run health initiative at the American University of Beirut that aims to offer migrant communities in Lebanon free primary healthcare services through its Saturday clinic held at the AUB Sawwaf Family Medicine Building. HEAL also aims to empower migrant workers by educating them about health-related issues through its weekly health class at MCC and to advocatefor their access to good and affordable healthcare services in Lebanon. It does so through the added benefit of providing AUB medical students with a meaningful experience in clinical volunteering and management.HEAL is an AUBMCares initiative, making it part of a network of AUB and AUBMCvolunteering projects that aim to provide healthcare services to the marginalized, the vulnerable, and the underserved in Lebanon.
