Healing Schools Project Details
Our program provides the space, support, and tools to cultivate joy, self-worth, and care for teachers of color. We would like to give educators continuing education credits to attend a four-session series of healing circles where they participate in healing practices (i.e., mindfulness and grounding moments), restorative conversations to radically imagine change and plan to implement these changes in their schools. Through this community, they develop the self-efficacy, agency, and support to shift culture in their oppressive school environments. The Healing Schools Project is driven by teachers of color and our goal is schools that prioritize teacher well-being, student social emotional support, then academics (in that order).
