Health Workforce Australia (HWA) is a Commonwealth statutory authority that delivers a national, coordinated approach to health workforce reform. It was established by the Council of Australian Governments (COAG) to address the challenges of providing a skilled, flexible and innovative health workforce that meets the needs of the Australian community. Since its inception, Health Workforce Australia has been working in collaboration with governments and non-government organisations across health and higher education sectors to address critical priorities in the planning, training and reform of Australia's health workforce.
