Vision: To develop and sustain a healthy community where everyone can thrive.Mission: Empower our community to thrive by connecting resources to promote healthy lifestyles and advocating for health in all policies.The Healthy Living Alliance (HLA) is a network of people and organizations working to encourage healthy, active living in Springfield, Missouri.Our work is hands-on: Farm to school initiatives, for example, and getting kids involved in designing sidewalks and bike routes. Our work is also far-reaching and includes projects like building a common measurement and tracking system for community health. Simply put, if it's about health and happiness, HLA is involved.We appreciate you visiting our site and welcome your involvement and support. The Healthy Living Alliance is made up of people and organizations just like you who contribute time, money, and vision.Our FundingHLA expanded in 2013 with funding through a federal Community Transformation Grant from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). We began in 2011 with support from Missouri Foundation for Health's Social Innovation for Missouri initiative. Many partners have also contributed. HLA is proud to be based at the Ozarks Regional YMCA, an association of eight YMCA branches with more than 30,000 members.In our first two years, HLA focused on connecting existing partner programs and resources with specific health needs in neighborhoods.
