"Alone, we can do so little; together, we can do so much." – Hellen Keller. Founded in 2019, Heart in Hills is a social enterprise based in the enchanting Kedarnath valley of the Himalayas. We are a group of young faces aspiring to improve the livelihood of small scale, hilly farmers, by providing market linkages to a variety of premium quality naturally organic grains, pulses, seeds and beverages growing at an elevation of 500-5000 meters altitude. Going back a decade, Uttarakhand had faced an alarming rate of permanent migration with a massive outflux during 2010-11 leaving the population of many villages into double digits. Due to social and economic underdevelopment of the villages, the youth have started leaving their native lands, turning hundreds of villages vacant (ghost villages). Heart in Hills is proud to work towards re-instating agriculture as a primary source of livelihood in the fertile lands of the hills which in a few years will go barren. Through our initiative, we are working towards increasing the per capita income of our farmers by selling their produce pan India. As a youth organization, our sole purpose is to do our part in feeding the ones who have fed us for years and restore mother earth in its most basic and natural form. We believe in harmonious co-existence with nature and each other. Our Vision: Heart in Hills' vision is to improve the livelihood of small scale farmers of Uttarakhand by promoting natural organic edibles of the Himalayas, thus, leading to the social and economic development of the hilly villages of Kedarnath valley. Our Mission: Heart in Hills' mission is to increase incentives of farmers, increase the income of self-help group women, encourage zero budget sustainable agriculture and promote healthy lifestyle of Indian consumers by providing organically grown products pan India.
