Heart Math Tutoring seeks to ensure that all elementary students develop a strong foundation in math and enthusiasm for academics by leveraging the powerful resource of volunteer time. Community members commit one hour per week to deliver an effective, hands-on curriculum in one-on-one tutoring sessions during the school day in Title I elementary schools.Designed in partnership with Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools, Heart Math Tutoring provides a curriculum that targets conceptual gaps of students. Heart also provides an on-site coordinator to support volunteers, students, and school staff. Volunteers provide one-on-one tutoring twice per week.
