A NEW PARADIGM ~ Serving Homeless HEART of Taos is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to empower women experiencing (or at imminent risk of experiencing) homelessness. HEART stands for Hope, Empowerment, Advocacy, Respect and Transitional housing.We use a one-on-one approach to provide pet-friendly emergency and transitional housing, to ensure each woman's basic needs are being met, and to provide support services including individual and group counseling, peer and program advocates, and a step-by-step action plan that assists women to secure eligible government benefits, community services, employment, and a permanent affordable place to live.Our goal is to provide an array of supports that assist women (and their children and pets) to rebound and achieve comprehensive stability so they may move forward with their lives
