Heart Music Group was born out of a need for musicians to receive a sustainable income for their art. We were founded by Martin Bryant, a musician from Wellington who experienced first-hand the struggles of trying to earn a liveable income whilst creating music full-time. The music industry previously relied on record sales and music royalty payments. But, the music industry has been shaken up tech giants such as Napster and LimeWire who allow peer-to-peer file sharing of music without paying artists a cent. In more recent times, streaming services such as Spotify and Apple Music have taken over the music industry and pay only $0.003 or less per play! At Heart Music Group, we are creating a change in the music industry for good! We aim to pay artists a fair and sustainable income so that they can continue to create art, instead of worrying about their next paycheck. We do this through the collective support and power of you, the music consumer. We ask for a small monthly payment to become a member and you will receive a number of benefits, such as ticket perks, and access to exclusive content on top of knowing that you are contributing directly to musicians and a change in the music industry!Every 8 weeks, we will submit a group of super talented, new artists to you our members. The artists will be of various genres and backgrounds. As a member, you have a right to place a vote for who you want to see receive our pool of funding each round. As such you the music consumer becomes the "TasteMaker" of our label.
