Help in Healing Home is an oasis in the Senoran desert, providing a caring and healing environment for transplant and cancer patients and their caregivers. Since opening the first location at Brusally Ranch in 1999, Help In Healing Home has provided housing to more than 4,500 patients and caregivers. To patients and caregivers who seek to enhance the healing process in a secure, warm and compassionate environment, Help in Healing Home is the independent, not-for-profit, donor sustained, home-away-from home that supports and strengthens their journey. The Home's patients have witnessed the hospitality, compassion, and friendliness of the people at Help In Healing Home, and they regularly request to stay at the casitas again upon return visits. The first 'casita' at The Village at Mayo Clinic was occupied on June 27th, 2009. The second casita was occupied September 8th, 2009 along with the opening of the first Hope Lodge casita. On June 13, 2011, the third casita was occupied bringing the total number of rooms for transplant patients to 18. In partnership with the American Cancer Society, Help In Healing Home is building a community of nine homes to house patients undergoing treatment on the Mayo Clinic Arizona campus. Each single story Casita will contain six bedrooms and six bathrooms. Each two story Casita will contain twelve bedrooms and twelve bathrooms, allowing Help In Healing Home to provide patients a home like environment. The individual homes will all surround a central community center named "The Brusally Community Center" helping to carry on the tradition of Brusally Ranch.
