HelpAge in Jamaica is a not-for-profit organization which works with affiliates and partners to implement programs and policies that improves the lives of older people in Jamaica's poorest communities. We ensure that older people are included in international development and have access to emergency relief, income security, health services and basic human rights. The HelpAge vision is of a world in which all older people fulfill their potential to lead dignified, active, healthy and secure lives. HelpAge is driven by a fundamental understanding that older people have the wisdom and the personal drive to contribute to their own well-being and to that of their families. We work globally to ensure that people everywhere understand how much older people contribute to society and that they must enjoy their right to healthcare, social services and economic and physical security. HelpAge International has offices in London and Brussels, six regional centers coordinating our work in Africa, East and South Asia, Latin America and the Caribbean and Eastern Europe/Central Asia. We work to address the issues that affect older people worldwide, including health, human rights, access to decent work and in emergencies. Since its inception in 1983, the HelpAge network has grown to over 100 affiliates and many more partners in 65 countries across the world. Our work is strengthened through our global network of like-minded organisations – the only one of its kind in the world.
