It all started with a trip to Tournai. It was the 1990s and Mr. Henny was a passionate student of historical art who had embarked on a trip to Tournai, not too far away from the French border. The purpose of his visit was to study, analyse and equip himself with knowledge on a few noteworthy artworks that one could find in the city's majestic cathedrals and castles.There, he found himself to be astounded by the town's history that spanned more than two millennia and his eyes caught the attention of a magnificent and well-crafted display of tapestry artworks that dated back to the 15th and 16th centuries. That is what ignited a flame in Mr. Henney and sparked his ‘Eureka!' moment.From the very moment he laid eyes on the art piece, his heart was set upon designing a distinctive range of fashion products that incorporated a blend of intricate traditional tapestry artwork with the playfully delightful modern elements. Several years of searching, researching, designing and toiling later, Mr. Henney was finally able to crack the code to fulfilling his aspirations of whipping out a tasteful concoction of materials and colors that brought together the best of both worlds – timeless classics and modern vibrance – and gave a newfound definition to the word "perfection", taking the form of a designer bag that boasts of the highest quality of tapestry work. His first collection served as an ode to his British roots – an honor to William Morris, a legendary British tapestry artist, and a Crown Bear theme that was a nod to the British Royal Family. Since its inception in 2008 in the United Kingdom, Henney Bear has gone on to claim its throne in the likes of fashion hubs like New York and Paris and metropolises like London and Tokyo. Our outlets have also been established in the United States, Australia, and in various parts of Europe and Asia.In 2019, we stepped foot into the Indian market and have been catering to our extensive customer base here ever since.
