Museums & Institutions - Amsterdam, North Holland, Netherlands
The unique character of New York City, originally New Amsterdam, was shaped by the legacy of the tolerant and entrepreneurial culture of the 17th century Dutch Republic. Today, the Henry Hudson 500 Foundation celebrates Dutch-American history and promotes future ties between New York and the Netherlands.HH500 organizes projects, campaigns and events in the context of three shared core values: freedom, entrepreneurial spirit, and tolerance. We celebrate these, the key values of the 17th century Dutch Republic, New Amsterdam and New York, which we believe to be the foundation for successful and thriving societies, then and now.~Henry Hudson 500 is een ontdekkingsreis naar een bloeiende samenleving waarin iedereen zijn talenten kan ontwikkelen. De Stichting organiseert projecten, voorstellingen, campagnes en evenementen in het kader van de kernwaarden van de Nederlandse Republiek, (Nieuw) Amsterdam en New York: vrijheid, handelsgeest en diversiteit.
