Her Capital is a social enterprise developed to support Black and Indigenous women entrepreneurs and founders to build, scale, and sustain their business through equitably securing capital, obtaining mentorship and other essential supports to enhance their social and economic growth in Canada and beyond. Black and Indigenous women have always been the nurturers of their communities. We know that when women are self-sufficient and prosperous the entire community is positively impacted. Black and Indigenous women entrepreneurship has seen tremendous growth rates in Canada. Unfortunately, there are still many barriers these communities face in accessing the capital and knowledge needed to thrive in the Canadian marketplace. Our mission is that every woman who decides to be an entrepreneur will thrive because they have the capital required (economic, social, and intellectual) to build, scale, and sustain.
