Heritage Arts provides consulting services in historic preservation, organizational dynamics, land use planning, and urban planning and design. Dan Becker is Owner, Manager, and Consulting Principal and the sole provider of services. The firm was established in 2011 as I transitioned from my role as Executive Director of the Raleigh Historic Districts Commission, Inc. Heritage Arts of NC LLC was incorporated in 2015 when I retired from the City of Raleigh following nine years as Planning Manager of the Long Range Planning Division, drawing to a close twenty-nine and a half years of public service in the Raleigh Department of City Planning.Services provided by the firm include the following:▪ Historic preservation consulting － commission training － design guidelines preparation and updates － historic structure evaluation － ordinance evaluation and design － tax credit and certificate of appropriateness applications▪ Organizational dynamics － non-profit governance evaluation and design － retreat facilitation － strategic planning and consultation▪ Land use planning － character preservation zoning ordinances － comprehensive plan elements － pre-development zoning code evaluation▪ Urban planning and design － "Main Street" storefront design consultation － streetscape schematic design▪ Respectful additions to historic residences
