HerniAid is a ventral hernia monitoring device designed to diagnose the progression of asymptomatic and barely palpable hernias prior to surgery in order to reduce surgical complications and improve patient quality of life. The founding team of HerniAid includes team leader Anisha Palasamudrum and members Alan Xu, Eric Guan, Ranjani Ramasubramanian, Ryan Zhao, Stanley Zhu, and Varun Naga. We are a team of undergraduate students in the Biomedical Engineering department at Johns Hopkins University. Our team is working closely with a set of engineers at Medtronic as well JHU BME's engineering faculty and specialized hernia surgeons at JHBMC.We are currently working on an IRB-approved human study, computational data analysis, and physical prototyping and testing in order to further our device development.
