In 1998, Hewitt Contracting Company, Inc. started Hewitt Power & Communications which performs work for municipalities, competitive Local Exchange Carriers (CLEC's), utilities, private industry and the government. The communications side of the business focuses on duct and manhole systems; trenching and boring; directional drilling; plowing; tunneling; maintenance; cable pulling and splicing. Aerial capabilities include pole, guy and anchor placement; cable splicing and renewal; and maintenance and removal of existing telephone plant. We also offer complete solutions related to voice, CATV and high speed internet access. Our power group constructs both underground and aerial distribution installations for a number of regional power utilities.
