Come meet The Hooperdinks at www.heyhooper.com!The company was created in loving memory of the number one character in my life, my little sister, Alayne Nist. Alayne had Down's syndrome and passed away at the age of 43 three years ago. She was my best friend, my inspiration and my "life coach"! Alayne loved to laugh and had more tricks up her sleeve than Houdini. She was a little rascal and kept us on our toes with her quick wit and great escapes. Her child like nature,unconditional love and her endless struggles taught all of us about humility, patience and acceptance. You never knew what she was going to do next but it invariably led to a valuable life lesson. It is my hope to honor her with this company named after her. She called herself Hooper. Cute little story about that: I volunteered at her summer camp when she was a little girl and she was a huge fan of Sesame Street. Back in the early days of Sesame Street there was a shop keeper by the name of Mr Hooper and then there was Big Bird who visited Mr Hooper on a regular basis. Big Bird never got poor old Mr Hooper's name right and would drive him nuts calling him Mr Dooper, Mr Looper, Mr Cooper... One episode Mr Hooper got fed up and yelled at Big Bird and said emphatically " It's HOOPER, HOOPER HOOPER!!". Well Alayne had a camp counselor who screwed up her name every day calling her Eileen, Elana, Ilana and one day at the age of about 7 she stood up and said " It's HOOPER,HOOPER HOOPER!" and so she became Hooper the remainder of her life! Every night when I'd go to my parents house to hang out with her I'd enter the home yelling Hey Hooper!!! and thus it only seemed right to call this company Hey Hooper Productions. We hope to entertain and inspire you Hooper style! Welcome and enjoy!!
