Government Administration - Hull, England, United Kingdom
The Humber Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP) is responsible for leading economic growth across the Humber. It is a business-led partnership, chaired by Lord Haskins of Skidby, which includes the four Humber local authorities and the University of Hull. One of the LEP's primary aims is to develop a renewable energy super cluster around the Humber Estuary. By attracting wind turbine manufacturers and their supply chains, and expanding the Humber's existing Operations & Maintenance capability, the LEP hopes to encourage the creation of thousands of jobs and new opportunities for local businesses. The LEP successfully bid for the largest allocation of Enterprise Zones in the country, which it manages, and works closely with Government to attract incentives for existing companies to expand and new companies to invest here. The LEP also manages the Humber's allocation of the Growing Places Fund, which provides loans to re-start stalled developments.
