Heyday Parenting began as a pet project in response to a lack of resources for new parents of a certain age. The staff is comprised of managing editor, Maureen Hanton, along with a myriad of guest bloggers who are keen to shed light on their experiences with midlife parenting.Whether starting out, starting again or starting over, becoming a parent in midlife is more common every day. We intend to explore and celebrate this new trend while addressing the specific concerns that older parents may have. More importantly, we aim to empower older parents to embrace their new role, while challenging others' (and our own) assumptions about age.At Heyday, we believe that demographic factors such as age are largely irrelevant distinctions in the experience of raising kids. It has been our experience that, regardless of age, the joys and struggles of parenthood are pretty much the same: Our bodies are exhausted, our minds are reeling and hearts are full.
