Waste/Recycling/Environmental - Ottawa, ON, CA
Trees feeding people. Fruit and nuts that would otherwise go to waste on public and private property are rescued by connecting the tree owners with volunteer harvesters. The bounty is shared with those in need in the community. In Ottawa there are 17,400 fruit and nut trees unharvested on City property - yet 42,000 people accessing the food bank each month. We bridge that gap. We want to see all fruit and nuts be valued, picked, and shared.A social purpose business, Hidden Harvest Ottawa supports the development of a food-tree friendly culture through services including selling edible trees, tree maintenance, and organizing harvest events.
