Music - San Diego, California, United States
Since 1963, Hidden Valley Music Seminars has worked to engage and inspire the highest levels of artistic excellence with a diverse array of music education programs for youth, emerging artists, and adults. Like a great theme of music, this artistic excellence has seen many variations over the years and shared the unique gifts of some of the leading musicians of the 20th century including soprano Elisabeth Schwarzkopf, flutist Jean-Pierre Rampal and Julius Baker, composer Samuel Barber, bassoonist Judith LeClaire, and artists in related fields such as dancer/choreographer Wayne Eagling and American scenic photographer Ansel Adams. A year round institution, Hidden Valley's curriculum includes master classes, workshops, camps, and additional music education opportunities through long-term collaborations with other organizations (Road Scholar, Orff Schulwerk, Young People's Symphony Orchestra, Golden Gate Chamber Players). The 300 seat Hidden Valley Theatre hosts many performances, including productions by Hidden Valley Opera Ensemble, which are open to the public.
