HIELO is a project space and artist-in-residence program located in the historic Caribbean neighborhood of Miramar, Puerto Rico. Founded by contemporary artist and professor Sofia Maldonado and Berlin-based creative Nicole Rodríguez Woods, the tropical residency provides creatives of all types with a unique experience of urban island life. Located in the heart of Puerto Rico's cultural renaissance, it is the prime spot for artists eager to be at the center of the island's dynamic Caribbean culture. MissionTo introduce and network visiting artists with the local Puerto Rico scene in an effort to enhance cultural exchange, understanding, and add value to the historic district of Miramar, Santurce.
