In 1978, the first high fidelity tactile sound transducer prototype was installed in a waterbed to produce the physical sensation of sound with out the high sound pressure level normally required to produce these sensations. In the early "80's", a derivation of this transducer was lowered into a swimming pool to provide high fidelity, underwater sound for synchronized swimmers.Since that time, thousands of these devices have been used by Disney, Universal Studios and the military to recreate the physical sensation of sound or "seat of the pants" experience, at a low sound pressure level.
