As a proud Mancunian business, the name ‘High Flying Bees' – or HFB – was inspired by a few things. You've probably heard of the ‘Manchester Bee' before. This celebrated symbol depicts the female worker bee and represents the hardworking community of people in Manchester. Their graft and dedication has allowed the city to thrive since the industrial revolution. Interestingly, the word ‘drone' is also attributed to the male honey bee. Our drone emits that familiar ‘buzzy bee' sound while it soars through the air, so we thought that this name was particularly apt. We currently have plans to brand the aircraft in distinctive bee colours too! Our name was also influenced by Noel Gallagher's iconic band ‘High Flying Birds' – yet another reference to our Mancunian roots.
