Research - Valladolid, Castilla y León, Spain
The High Pressure Processes Group of the University of Valladolid is involved with research and development of processes for industrial application using the principles of efficiency and sustainability as its philosophy. The thermodynamic characteristics of supercritical fluids together with the implementation of process intensification technologies have provided a unique platform for the development of novel processes with applications including:• Energy generation from biomass residues. • Waste conversion and upgrading as part of a circular economy philosophy.• Formulation and functionalization of high value-added products and nanomaterials from different biomass sources. • New materials development: catalyst supports and hydridesThe expertise of the group in the field of green technologies involves the application of supercritical fluids, microwave heating and ultrasounds together with phenomenological and numerical processes simulation for the development of new processes concepts. This broad expertise has been materialized into more than 160 scientific contributions and long term industrial partnerships for process development and transference of technology.
