The first school building was built in 1948. and was in Grbavica. 1962. school moved to a new building, which is still in the Municipality Novo Sarajevo, between the Wilson Promenade and the Pofalici Tram Station. This school has educated staff for power generation and distribution. 1983. was a division of the school into professions of weak and strong current. The electrical engineering school in Buća Potok educates the occupations of the weak, and our school has strong electricity. This is how we become a part of the Jaroslav Černi School of Electrical Engineering. It is named after the engineer Jaroslav Černi who was a pioneer in the design and construction of hydroelectric power plants. During its existence, the Jaroslav Černi School has gained a reputation throughout Yugoslavia thanks to the talent and diligence of its students and teaching staff. By the outbreak of the war, the school had about 1,400 students working in ninety classes with ninety professors. In 1992, the school was renamed Mixed Secondary School for Power Engineering. During the war, teaching did not interrupt and took place in very difficult conditions. In the 1994/1995 school year. In the course of the year, professors and students return to the heavily damaged school building and classes have been organized which were interrupted by shelling of the building. Then the work continued in the premises of the gymnasium until 1997. During 1996, with the help and great efforts of employees and well-intentioned work organizations, the school was rebuilt. 11.2.1997. has started working again, it was a great joy and pleasure of students and professors, schools began to work in the renovated facility, the first of Sarajevo's schools. This is why February 11th is celebrated as School Day. In 2009, the school was renamed to High School of Electrical Power Engineering. This school has over the years contributed to the construction and development of the Electric Power Industry of BiH and beyond.
