Initially founded in 2019 by Reuben Ler as a hedge fund incubator and a pooled investment club GP thereafter, Highland Capital has grown to become a global long/short public equity investment fund for non-solicited, accredited investors. We apply a fundamental value discipline and utilise proprietary risk controls on our holdings. Highland capitalises on its founder's expertise in event-driven strategy, trading off sector, catalysts & price-action while simultaneously deploying an approach to special situations such as shareholder activism, distressed debt/credit, bankruptcies, restructurings/spin-offs & engagements in corporate change. Adjacent to this is a separate non-neutral long-only TMT equity strategy to leverage the founder's experience as an operator & investor in the telecom, media and technology sectors, specifically SaaS, which pursues deeply undervalued opportunities. Highland conducts due diligence with a strict and meticulous commitment to collecting & analysing a wide variety of alternative data streams on companies, thereby maintaining an enduring competitive edge. Positions with a high asymmetry of reward to risk profiles are prioritised to create a high degree of optionality. The fund now functions as a registered Limited Partnership with a Board of Advisors.
