In 1932, Hindusthan Musical Products Pvt. Ltd. was started by Mr. Chandi Charan Saha after he bought his recording equipment from George Neumann in Germany to set up a Sound Recording Studio. Rabindra Nath Tagore inaugurated the studio and recorded the first song "TOBU MONE REKHO".Subsequently recordings by Atul Prasad Sen, Pankaj Kumar Mullick, Anupam Ghatak, K.L.Saigal, Renuka Sengupta, Amiya Thakur and Amita Sen followed. Hindusthan's releases were best sellers including the legendary hits of New Theatres, K.L.Saigal, Pahari Sanyal. Pankaj Kumar Mullick, S.D.Burman, Ustad Bade Ghulam Ali Khan, Ustad Faiyaz Khan, Ustad Bade Gulam Ali Khan amongst others.The family's second label INRECO was established in the 70's with a focus on regional music in India. In Bengal it recorded artistes like Debabrata Biswas, Subinoy Roy, Rajeshwari Datta, Shantideb Ghosh, Rajkumar Chatterjee, Amar Pal, Purna Das Baul, Asoketaru Banerjee and many more. In South India with film hits in Tamil and Malayalam including greats like Illaiyaraja and T.Rajendran, to name a few as well as in Carnatic Classical with artists like G.N.Balasubramaniam, M. L. Vasant Kumari, Sudha Ragunathan, Bombay Jayshri also lent their genius to the INRECO Label.In Punjab, Haryanvi Folk and Devotional content included artists of the calibre of Kuldip Manek, Jasdev Yamla, Narendar Chanchal, Jagjit Kaur, Surinder Kohli, Preeti Sagar, Mastan Singh Heera, Mohan Mastana, Jasbir Kusdil and others. Both labels are currently distributed worldwide across 200 countries and continue to record artists like Somlata, Shahana Bajpaie, Rupankar, Srikantho Acharya amongst others. Mr. S.L. Saha, son of the late Chandi Charan Saha, is currently at the helm of affairs at HINDUSTHAN and INRECO
