Museums - Fort Lauderdale, FL, us
History Fort Lauderdale operates 3 museums & a research library in the heart of downtown. The main Museum features exhibits in Archaeology, Seminole Culture, Gatsby-Era Fashion, WWI & WWII in FLL, and Business. The Pioneer House Museum is set as if the family will return at any moment for their 1907 Sunday Supper. The Schoolhouse Museum features original 1899 wooden desks and McGuffey Readers. As with most museums, the artifacts on display in the museums are only a fraction of the collections stewarded by History Fort Lauderdale. Our collections include 400,000 historic photos, 100,000 artifacts, 5,000 historic architectural blueprints & sketches, 2,500 historic maps, oral & video histories, and a library of Florida history which houses over 3,500 rare books.
