The History of Science Society fosters interest in the history of science, its social and cultural relations. It does this by organizing an annual meeting, by publishing two journals -- ISIS and OSIRIS, by recognizing superior scholarship and teaching; by publishing a quarterly newsletter, by sponsoring scholars outside of the US, by supporting a bibliographer who provides research tools for scholars, by working with other societies, by public outreach, by maintaining a web site, and by supporting its members.
