In the '70s, he lived in the HR bunkhouse employed as a cowboy with the first cattle operations--among his duties was aiding the original HR Broker when buyers were shown property on horseback. He and his wife Kathy soon purchased an HR parcel, raised his family on the HR and neighboring Rancho San Julian, and have been continually involved with the HR Owners Association and selling Hollister Ranch realty and nearby ranches and estates full-time ever since. They've owned six different HR parcels.Bear SawyerBear grew up on the neighboring Rancho San Julian and has been an HR owner since childhood. He and his wife moved to Parcel 32, near Augustine beach and corrals, before leaving for Hawaii, Oregon, and Texas. They're raising their 4 kids to be informed and active stewards of the HR and enjoy all that it offers. He earned a J.D., Environmental Law from the University of Oregon School of Law and a B.A. from UCLA. He attended Vista de las Cruces K-8 school a few minutes from the Hollister Ranch gatehouse, then Midland School in Los Olivos, CA.
