* * Home Away Boston was acquired by the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Eastern New England after four years of increased growth and providing excellent client services to more than 120 families. On January 5th, 2017, the program was reborn under its new name: The Ronald McDonald House at Boston Harbor. The mission of Home Away Boston is to provide comfortable housing close to the hospital, a caring community of support, and other services free of charge to families with critically ill children. Families who travel to Boston seeking medical care for a child face enormous hurdles coping with the complexities of the health care system, extraordinary costs, and emotional and physical stress. By removing the stress of daily living, we enable families to focus on what truly matters: their child's health and healing.
