Home-Start Hastings & Rother offers friendship and support to local families with children under five years.Many parents, despite their best efforts, can find themselves struggling whilst bringing up their young families. Hastings & Rother Home-start's team of volunteers offers one-to-one support, friendship and practical help to these families.Our unique support is offered to parents in their own homes, as unlike other support services, we believe our support is best served in the family's own environment where they feel comfortable.Our support is free, confidential and non-judgemental. Many of our volunteers were originally supported parents themselves - a clear indication of the schemes success.Home-start is particularly important in this local area as 8 of the 10 districts with the highest levels of child poverty in East Sussex are in Hastings (in Baird, Tressell, Central St. Leonards, Gensing, Hollington and Ore); the other 2 are both in Sidley ward in Bexhill
