Hope in South Africa (HISA) is a global partnership that empowers communities to enable every citizen to become healthy, responsible, contributing members of society.We are a global non-profit that started in 2004 as a partnership between the Episcopal Church of St. Peter's in Poolesville, Maryland and the Anglican Church in Richmond, South Africa. The original US travelers who travelled to Richmond were inspired to renovate the local community center resulting in a thriving facility that now houses a soup kitchen, garden, bakery, library as well as provides HIV and Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD) health education and leadership training for youth.The partnerships, relationships, and experience that we have gained through the years has enhanced our ability to support organizations and individuals across South Africa focused on youth education, health, and leadership development.
