The "Horae" are the goddesses of the seasons and the natural portions of time - they promoted the fertility of the earth. The Horae saxophone is fertile of producing different moods of sound, acting like a natural extension of the player's body. Based on this design idea, we are pleased to introduce to you the concept of "Fusion". By that, we fuse various French and American style sounds of top vintage saxophones into "One saxophone".At Horae, we actually acquired several valuable vintage horns such as the original Adolphe saxophones, Selmer "Mark VI", Buffet "S1", Buescher "True Tone", Conn "Chu Berry", and King "Super 20", etc. We dismembered and analyzed the horns in every aspect to discover the strength of each horn, and finally came up with a new design of our own. The journey of designing our saxophones was not easy. We had to overcome numerous technical challenges while conducting over 156 experiments, which included the usage of 3D printing to test the numerical datum from the studies of vintage saxophones within 7 years. The result was the shocking creation of horns of 20% modern sound (edgy and focused), and 80% of the true classic vintage sound (warm, woody, fat and resonant). This creation is what we believe Adolphe Sax would have intended saxophones to sound like.
