Horror Realm is Pittsburgh's modern horror convention. In addition to the semi-annual convention, we produce horror themed events throughout the year, such as film screenings, book signings/discussions, art shows and charity events.The convention features a dealer room, celebrity guests, film program, VHS viewing room, discussion panels/Q&A sessions, contests and entertainment. Crowne Plaza Pittsburgh South serves as the home of Horror Realm's March and September shows.Other events that have been produced by Horror Realm include:- Day of the Dead film screening and cast appearance to benefit Scares That Care charity- Women in Horror Month film screenings to benefit Pittsburgh Action Against Rape- Cara Gasper Art Auction to benefit Animal Rescue League- Women in Horror roundtable in collaboration with Eljay's Used Books- Horror author signing and discussion series in collaboration with Eljay's Used Books- Beyond the Paranormal lecture event in collaboration with Shadow Three Media- Psycho Beach Party screening to benefit Shepherd Wellness Community- Special events and screenings to benefit the Hollywood TheaterThe management of Horror Realm has coordinated three Guinness World Record setting zombie walks in 2006-2008. The 2007 & 2008 walks also earned Rondo Hatton Classic Horror Awards. Horror Realm has been nominated for Rondo's Best Convention Rondo from 2009 to 2012 and participated in the Pittsburgh Business Times Social Madness competition in 2012.
