Horyzon is the Swiss development organisation for youth, which was founded in 1969 as a non-profit association and is based in Olten. Since 1st of January 2009 Horyzon is recognized as a non-profit foundation that does not pursue commercial aims and is working in accordance with the provisions of the cantonal and federal laws. Horyzon has been working with partners in an interdisciplinary network of aid and development organisations – primarily Swiss development organisations and international donor coordination.Horyzon's budget in 2020 is 1.6 million Swiss Francs which is used to support a total of 5 projects and programmes in national and local YMCAs/YWCAs in the Caribbean, Near East, Latin America and Africa.Horyzon focuses on bettering the living conditions of young people and providing education and training in practical areas. Project work centres mainly on vocational training, health education and supporting and encouraging youths to stand up for their rights.
