The Diana Princess of Wales Hospice Care at Home Trust was created in 1998 by Don & Ali Westacott to provide Hospice at Home services in the Isle of Man, and funded by the Westacotts for four years. Since then the Trust has continued to fundraise to help provide this valuable service. The Trust receives no Government funding. The aim of the Trust is to not only provide high-quality nursing care to support the individual patient, the family, their friends and carers, when the patient has chosen to remain at home, but also to support a child when additional care is required, or the family needs a break. Care is provided in the patient's home by a "Diana Nurse" trained in palliative care.
