Hospice Help Foundation provides financial assistance to hospice patients and families with dire financial need, in order to improve their quality of life and ease the burdens accompanying a terminal diagnosis. Our support transcends the usual scope of hospice care by providing assistance for services not covered by Medicare, Medicaid, or private insurance, and is available to patients regardless of the hospice that provides their care.We are a wholly independent 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that is governed by a board of directors who oversee our strategic plan and fundraising.Hospice Help Foundation understands that a terminal illness can deplete life savings, causing great emotional strain at the end of life. Since 2008, we have helped cover some of life's necessities and ease the emotional burden people with a terminal illness face. Some of the ways the Foundation helps patients and families include:- Paying rent, utilities, and food bills so patients can remain at home to die- Providing basic necessities such as eyeglasses, dentures, and clothing, to enhance dignity at end-of-life- Covering the cost of transportation for families who otherwise would not be able to reunite- Assisting with funeral costs for indigent patients, so that a dignified burial is possible- Granting last wishes, such as a trip to a major league baseball game, a last trip to the beach, and help with veterinary bills for beloved pets- Providing specialized bereavement services to children coping with the loss of a parent- Providing ramps, wheelchairs, and chairlifts, so that patients can remain mobile for as long as possible- Assisting with medication co-pays which would otherwise be unaffordable for some patientsWe envision a society in which all people leave this world feeling loved and cared for, and without the emotional and financial burdens that often accompany a terminal diagnosis.
