For over 30 years, Hospice Kingston has provided compassionate holistic care for people with progressive life-limiting illness, their caregivers and families, and those affected by grief and loss through a variety of programs such as:• In-Home Care • Care Coordination• Day Wellness• Caregiver Support• Grief & Bereavement Support• Volunteer ServicesLast year, Hospice Kingston volunteers and direct staff supported over 400 people, and their caregivers and families, in the Kingston area. Volunteers provided 6,380 In-Home visits and contributed over 13,000 documented volunteer hours. Fundraising events and donations are key to the livelihood of Hospice Kingston, as we are a not-for-profit organization with 88% of our funding coming from the generosity of our community. Hospice Kingston is evolving into a fully integrated continuum of hospice palliative care services and support through the enhancement of its existing services as well as the implementation of a 10-bed residential hospice. All services will be housed within the Palliative Care Centre, which will be located in central Kingston at Providence Village, a campus of health and social services.Kingston is the largest community in Ontario that currently does not have a residential hospice.
