Individual & Family Services - Columbus, Georgia, United States
The mission of House of Heroes-Chattahoochee Valley Chapter, Inc. (HOH-CVC) is to recognize and honor military and public safety veterans and their spouses who have served our country faithfully and sacrificially. Through service to these veterans and their spouses, HOH-CVC and volunteers attempt to express gratitude that can never be adequately expressed in words alone. In 2000, Wayne Anthony developed and launched House of Heroes, a joint initiative by local representatives of Congress of the United States, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, the Society for Human Resource Management, the Department of Defense, the Department of Veterans Affairs, and Hands On/City Cares of America. House of Heroes honors elderly or disabled military and public safety veterans and/or their spouses by providing repairs and improvements to their home. Since the beginning, over 800 homes have been repaired and veterans honored in 17 states by House of Heroes Chapters in Arizona, Connecticut, Georgia, and Iowa.
