The Logansport Housing Authority is supervised by a five member Board of Commissioners, appointed by the mayor, to administer U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development programs for the City of Logansport with annual expenditures of more than $1.2 million. Responsibilities include supervision of the federally funded Section 8 Housing Assistance Program, enforcement of U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development Housing Quality Standards for rental properties within city limits and oversight of the grant funded Family Self Sufficiency Program. Further responsibilities include working with area law enforcement, public health, emergency management and other agencies to reduce crime and system abuse, correct environmental hazards and address other safety and resiliency issues at public housing sites under authority jurisdiction.
