The Houston Area Women's Center Young Leaders (HAWCYL) is a group of Houstonians in their 20s, 30s, and 40s committed to furthering the mission of the Houston Area Women's Center. We are dedicated to raising awareness about domestic violence and sexual assault, fundraising, and providing a consistent pool of volunteers to support the efforts of the Women's Center. Furthermore, we seek to create a welcoming and inclusive environment for likeminded individuals of all genders and backgrounds to mingle and network with one another.What is the Houston Area Women's Center?The Houston Area Women's Center helps individuals affected by domestic and sexual violence in their efforts to move their lives forward. We provide shelter, counseling and advocacy to support them in building lives free from the effects of violence. We seek social change to end domestic and sexual violence through community awareness and education. Services are confidential and available to everyone.
